Our Babymoon at the Andaz Maui!

ever since visiting Maui for the first time last year {full travel guide here}, robbie and i both had our heart set on traveling there for our babymoon! we loved the laid back feel of the island, the beautiful beaches, and the discounted designer shopping didn't hurt, either. for those of you who might not know what a babymoon is it's kind of like a honeymoon, but a last hurrah for parents before baby comes! since we did SO much exploring of the island in October, we also knew we wanted to just stay at a fab resort and relax, hardly leave, and be in swimsuits all day long. we had some close friends stay at the Andaz earlier in the year and they raved about it, so it was an easy choice for us! the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort kindly hosted us for 6 days/5 nights, and we seriously felt like we were in heaven. couldn't recommend this resort enough!

first of all, it's stunning. this property is located in Wailea, which is a luxurious resort community in South Maui {and right next to said designer shopping!}. when you first arrive, you check in at the Andaz Lounge on the main level and it overlooks the entire resort. it's open air and you can smell the ocean and listen to the palm trees sway. the moment we walked in, we felt so relaxed! they offer you refreshing lavender lemonade and a lei upon arrival, too. we stayed in a Deluxe King room with an ocean view and you can check out robbie's hilarious room tour saved on my Highlight Story on IG! it was the perfect size room and i especially loved the big shower {dual shower heads!}. they upgraded us to the babymoon package, which included mocktail vouchers, a cute little onesie and stuffed animal shark for Baby Tripp, and Martinelli's to celebrate. so sweet and thoughtful!

while this resort isn't all inclusive, there's SO many yummy restaurants on property that we hardly left the resort to eat! the breakfast buffet at Ka’ana Kitchen was the best way to start our day. so many of you recommended this spot for brunch last time we came to Maui, so it was definitely a treat that we could essentially roll out of bed and enjoy such a yummy breakfast. there was everything you could have imagined--sweet, savory, grains, proteins, SO much fruit, delicious juices, they had it all! highly recommend even if you aren't stay at the Andaz. most days we ate lunch poolside or at the Lehua Lounge, which was the same menu. i loved the lettuce wraps! filling and delicious, without making me feel like i was eating anything super heavy poolside. and of course order a fab drink! our go-to was the Coconut Wireless. we also had dinner one night at Ka’ana Kitchen and it was a completely different experience than breakfast. equally as delicious, but each plate was unique and robbie and i shared everything! we really loved this meal and it was our last one while staying at the Andaz. perfect way to end our time in Maui! we also ran into the Mokapu Market frequently for a gelato treat or second breakfast. seriously, all the food was so delicious and one of the reasons why i recommend this resort so highly!

i'm saving the very best for last because we did get to also experience the Andaz's luau, which is called The Feast at Mokapu. it was such a fun cultural experience! this luau is special because it's one of the most intimate ones offered at a resort on the island. before sitting down to eat {not a buffet like most!}, there's interactive cultural experiences, like tattoos and flower making, etc. while you eat family style, dancers and storytellers immerse you in the history of Maui and the Hawaiian people. it's really, really fun and interesting and we loved getting to know our tablemates! the food was to die for and it was fun to try new dishes, too.

most days, robbie and i ended up taking a stroll on the beach in the morning after breakfast {along with taking some photos!} and then we parked it poolside at the adult pool. i loveeee when resorts offer an adult pool because sometimes i just really want to relax and read or swim around without getting splashed by kids... but i know that's ending soon with the arrival of our own little one, haha! there's so many pools and cabanas to choose from at the Andaz, that any seat in the house is amazing and you can't go wrong. but definitely recommend the adult pool, which is by the spa! speaking of the Awili Spa, we also got a couple's massage. so relaxing and we even got to make our own oil concoction {called their apothecary experience} prior to use during our massages!

needless to say, we loved our time at the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort! it was such a special babymoon because we felt relaxed, ate the best food, and soaked in precious time together before our little one joins us in just a few short weeks {less than 10 now!}. we want to make Maui an annual trip and can't wait to bring Baby Tripp back! although we made it a very adult-like trip {adult pool, spa treatments, etc.}, the property is very family and even dog friendly. can't wait to bring Baby Tripp next year!

huge thanks to the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort for hosting such a special trip!
