i'm one of those girls who almost always will sacrifice comfort over style {just ask robbie about my countless blisters and him having to loan me his jacket in many situations.... whoops!}. however, there are a few exceptions. let me take you back to my first real job in high school. i was hired onto the BP team {junior's department} at Nordstrom during my senior year. prior to that i had been interning for the retailer through their Fashion Board program. you must be 18 to work for Nordy, so it was such a dream when my manager told me they wanted to hire me full time when the time came! as a senior in high school, i worked full time on top of being in Student Government, president of NHS, a boyfriend, friends, etc. but i just loved my job! i adored being thrown into the fashion world via retail, learning so much about styling, seeing the latest trends first, creating relationships with many amazing customers, and quite possibly never earning a single cent since it all went back to the store, haha!that being said, i was on my feet a lot. and by a lot i mean nine-hour shifts four times a week, sometimes five. for a busy high schooler, it was a serious eye-opening experience into the adult world. my thin ballet flats and sandals weren't cutting it anymore! my feet would ache and ache after shifts when i wore shoes without any support. however, so many padded shoes were old lady looking and not quite my standard. i was introduced to Børn shortly after i started. they not only provided comfort, but also style. so many of my co-workers wore heels to work, but i just couldn't do it for more than two hours. i found a t-strap block heel from Børn that was black patent leather and so chic! i wore them all the time for my long shifts, and even though i was tired after, my dogs weren't barking.needless to say, i've been a fan of the brand ever since. the shoes are handcrafted {with the sole carefully sewn or stitched to the upper creating flexibility, as opposed as opposed to shoes that are strictly glued/cement construction}, feature incredible quality leathers, special cushioning, and chic details. in today's post, i'm wearing their oxford 'Eden' shoe and i can't even get over the velvet lace-up details! i feel so European and love how they elevate my look and provide comfort. with Børn footwear, you don't have to sacrifice comfort for style. keep scrolling to view my full outfit and up-close shots of the shoes! xx mini houndstooth print blazer red wool skirt black v neck tee oxford Eden shoe c|o Børn lipstick print YSL bag cat eye sunglasses Ruby Woo lisptick
