master bedroom reveal.

HaleyNordPhotography (24 of 59)hello and welcome to our home! i've been wanting to do some more lifestyle blog posts, so i'm excited to kick it off with our recently completed master bedroom! i really do feel that my sense of fashion and design extend to interior decor, DIY projects, and even my taste in cooking and eating out, so stay tuned for more lifestyle posts!in the meantime, i'd like to welcome you to our bedroom! it's my very favorite room in our home for a couple of reasons. i love how light and airy this rooms feels. the rest of our home has dark furniture, dark upholstery, dark wood, etc. i do love the dark aesthetic of the rest of our home, but i was insistent on our bedroom being bright and inviting. robbie was insistent on a 'tropical vibe,' and thus we settled on this Tommy Bahama bedspread as the beginning of our room's inspiration. as much as robbie supports my love of the color pink, we both decided to stay away from it in our bedroom {but you can bet my office space is chock full of it!}. i love that we used whites and seafoams as our main colors, with lots {and i mean lots} of glitzy gold accents. since our bedroom has light exposed brick {another favorite feature of our home}, we decided to use lighter woods in our dresser and nightstands as well. our DIY gold shelving unit houses sentimental objects and items that really fit our personality. for example, the gold owl represents Drake's OVO logo, who is Robbie's favorite rapper. i wanted to display a lipstick quote print given by a good friend so as to bring a small amount of SRL into our bedroom. it all turned out more perfect than i imagined & i just love our living space.these prints i'm featuring in our bedroom are made by Dan In The Desert and they are the perfect finishing touches to our DIY shelving unit. when Dan contacted me about featuring some prints, i was so excited! as you can see, robbie and i have gold foil prints of our home states up on our dresser, but Dan's prints are even more unique. every print features intricate details of a state or country and comes with an extra print showing exactly what everything in the original print means. robbie and i each chose a print for sentimental reasons. for mine, i chose the country of Israel because i studied abroad in Jerusalem and love the Holy Land with all my heart, as most of you have probably already noticed on IG. Robbie served a two-year mission in Canada {Toronto specifically} and the country is just one of his favorite places in the world. both of these countries really helped each of us grow into the people we are today & they will always hold pieces of our hearts. the prints are a great reminder of what we learned there and that we want to travel back with each other! last, i also chose a New York print because i lived in Manhattan for three months the summer robbie and i started dating! i moved to the Upper West Side two weeks after we became official and then we did the whole long distance thing all summer {i don't recommend it haha}. NYC is such an important part of our love, but it's also where the motivation for Sassy Red Lipstick began! New York played quite a role in what are lives are today. not only does Dan In The Desert specialize in map art, they also specialize in LDS & Christian art. check it out here!Dan In The Desert is offering 20% off your entire order with the code 'sassy' from now until Monday, the 29th! these prints will make for the perfect, sentimental gift for the holidays! stock up on some for yourself, too! they really are such a great personal touch for your home decor. xxHaleyNordPhotography (4 of 59) HaleyNordPhotography (13 of 59) HaleyNordPhotography (15 of 59) HaleyNordPhotography (9 of 59)HaleyNordPhotography (8 of 59) HaleyNordPhotography (17 of 59) HaleyNordPhotography (5 of 59) HaleyNordPhotography (10 of 59) HaleyNordPhotography (2 of 59) HaleyNordPhotography (16 of 59) HaleyNordPhotography (1 of 59) HaleyNordPhotography (23 of 59) HaleyNordPhotography (11 of 59) HaleyNordPhotography (6 of 59) HaleyNordPhotography (20 of 59) HaleyNordPhotography (7 of 59) HaleyNordPhotography (21 of 59) HaleyNordPhotography (22 of 59) HaleyNordPhotography (25 of 59) HaleyNordPhotography (18 of 59) HaleyNordPhotography (26 of 59)map prints c/o: Dan In the Desertheadboard: Wayfairbedspread: Tommy Bahama'dream' pillow: HomeGoodsgold shelf: Ikea + 2 cans of gold spray paint {favorite DIY project to date}'forever' glitter sign: made for our wedding by Design to Printgold foil state prints: Etsywhite night stands: Targetdresser: vintage
