newport beach travel guide + outfit diary.

Newport Beach is one of our happy places. luckily, robbie & i get to spend a weekend there every few months because my grandparents have a beautiful condo in Newport! we always road trip down {it's about a 7 hour drive from SF but it always goes by fast!} and it's one of those places we go to actually relax, enjoy the warm beach, and spend quality time together. i thought i'd share some of our very favorite places to eat, things to do, and of course most instagrammable spots. if there's one place in the world i could move to no problem, it would be Newport Beach for sure {or Laguna Beach, which is just south!}.i'll be linking all of my outfits in this post too! enjoy! xxfavorite places to eatCrab Cooker: enough said, a local seafood legendMama D's: amazing family Italian spot with big portions. literally everything is good here. The Cannery: when you're looking for a real wine & dine experience. ask to sit outside by the harbor! The Beachcomber Cafe: our very favorite brunch spot of all time because it's right on the beach, just a hop away from the ocean. lunch is also really good. be sure to make reservations online weeks in advance!Javier's: delicious Mexican food.Banzai Bowls: our favorite spot to get breakfast every morning. they pretty much invented the acai bowl.Lemonade: probably the most healthy meal and so yummy! located at Fashion Island.Balboa Bars: ice cream bar dipped in all sorts of amazing toppings. head to Dad's or Sugar 'N' Spice on Balboa Island!favorite things to do- go to the beach: we love hanging around 25th to 31st street! the earlier you go in the day, the better chance at finding free residential parking.- rent bikes: there's so many places to rent bikes! ride along the boardwalk or catch the ferry to Balboa Island {you need cash for it!}.- go to Balboa Island: this is the cutest little community! you must get a Balboa Bar while there and you can walk {or ride!} up and down the streets. there's also a ferris wheel at the Balboa Fun Zone!- watch surfers at The Wedge- head to Fashion Island to shop: easily one of my favorite malls! it's outdoor and has the best shops, plus really great food!- drive the famous Pacific Coast Highway {PCH}: since i also grew up going to Laguna Beach every summer with my family, the PCH is high on my list for something you must do at least once. it has amazing views and is most enjoyable with the top down!instagrammable spots

- Lido Isle: a super cute community of homes and every single one seems to have gorgeous flowers in the front yard! we took a few photos there, see below.- Newport Pier: this is a touristy spot but if you're looking to get palm trees and the beach in one beautiful shot, this is the spot!- Crystal Cove State Beach: this is where the Beachcomber Cafe is located and the views are unreal here.- Balboa Fun Zone Ferris Wheel: this makes for a fun gram with your significant other!- the homes along the actual beach: most of them are colorful and have bougainvilleas. enough said!
