tropical curves. {guest post with Robbie}

pool Sarah-76tgif babes!!! this was the shortest week ever & i'm definitely not complaining. i'm so excited to share another swimsuit from Albion Fit with you {see my first one here}! this one is actually a two piece & i'm obseseddddd with the off the shoulder {OTS} tropical look! for reference, i'm wearing a size large in both the top & bottom {my chest is a 36DD}, but i wish i would have sized down in the bottoms. other than that, this suit is definitely one of my very favorites for the summer! stay tuned for a giveaway later tonight on IG and use my code 'sassyredlipstick' for 15% off your purchase at Albion Fit!related: 5 ways to feel confident with your curves in a swimsuit - Kortni Jeane Blognow onto today's actual topic. i've been wanting to do this for a while now and thought a swimsuit post was the perfect time. below, my husband robbie is going to chat about how he's always been attracted to curvy bodies & why we curvy-body ladies should feel confident with ourselves! i think this is an important topic because in college i had a really hard time dating. i felt like no one wanted to date me because of my body type or that only bigger guys would date a bigger girl {i was also between 30-40 pounds heavier that i am now at some points, too}. i thought all men wanted skinny wives. i mean no offense to those of you who are thin, but i just felt unwanted because of some silly misconception of what society tells us is the most desirable way to look.so, without further ado....Hi, my name is Robbie Tripp and I love curvy women. This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who has seen my wife (or follows me on Instagram where I proudly post pictures of her in bathing suits and other form-fitting attire), but let's just say that my preference hasn't always been so easily understood. As long as I can remember, I have always been attracted to thicker girls. When I was a young high school basketball player, I assumed this was because I listened to a lot of rap music and was constantly being told by my favorite rappers that big booty females were the most desirable. However, the older I got, the clearer it became that I was genuinely attracted to curvier girls. While all my friends were obsessing over Vanessa Hudgens, I was attracted to Raven-Symoné. My friends would tease me for my preference for girls with thick thighs and love handles, when they all went for the typical petite-framed, small-waisted girls. To put it simply, they searched for twigs while I had eyes for hourglasses. Indeed, as I grew older, I found that my attraction to girls on the softer side was not just a phase.Now let's not kid ourselves, I was, am, and probably always will be in the minority here. It's common knowledge that the majority of guys like skinny girls. We can blame this on many things—unrealistic portrayals of women in the media, porn culture, sociological factors, etc. But the reason Sarah asked me to write today was to show that there are men like me out there in the world who prefer women on the softer side. And there are plenty of us, trust me. If you are a single woman and have a little junk in the trunk, listen up because this is especially for you.When I met Sarah, it was a done deal. I loved how fashionable she was while still having some meat on her bones. I loved how she never left the house without looking presentable while still filling out every inch of her Paige denim. Taking pride in your personal appearance and knowing how to dress for your body type not only accents your best features, but it shows confidence. I also liked how Sarah took care of herself in hygiene and exercise. She may be a size 10, but she can hold her own when we go for a jog and she cares about being healthy. If you always have been or currently are a thicker girl, these traits go a long way for us guys.When Sarah and I got married and I was able to enjoy all of her curves in all of their glory, it was solid confirmation of what I've believed my whole life: thick girls are insanely sexy. There's no need for me to talk about the most obviously lovable parts of girls with curves (big boobs and large booty), so let's talk about all the things you've probably never heard a guy say out loud. I love Sarah's soft stomach and adorable little rolls. So many girls are worried about the fact that their stomach isn't flat, but all I see in soft stomachs are gorgeous 17th-century nude paintings. Curves are art as far as I'm concerned. Next, Sarah always told me that her thick thighs used to make her so self-conscious, especially when she went to the beach. She would wear swim skirts or shorts to cover them up. When she first told me this, I couldn't believe it. Her "juicy" thighs, as I like to call them, are one of the first things I loved about her! Thick thighs almost always mean big booty and that's why there are plenty of guys who not only don't mind thick thighs, but love them. All the other parts that you may be ashamed of—flabby arms, back rolls, round face, etc.—are nothing for a guy who loves the beauty of a full figure. (If you don't believe me, just look at this meme I came across on Instagram the other day. I couldn't have put it better myself.)If you are single and curvy, don't allow yourself to believe that guys only want the skinny girls. They don't. Most do, but there's plenty of young, handsome, intelligent, successful guys out there like me who like girls that are "sexy thick", as I like to call Sarah. Your personality and dreams are what's most important about you, and if a guy doesn't want to take the time to see that because he can't handle a whole lot of woman, then it's not worth your time anyway. Find a guy who loves you for you, and makes you feel like he worships your body. At the end of the day, every body is beautiful, and that includes yours too. Now, time to stare at my favorite thing in the world: photos of Sarah in a bathing suit.- Robbiepool Sarah-64 pool Sarah-67pool-Sarah-62b pool Sarah-77pool-Sarah-82b pool Sarah-66 pool Sarah-79pool-Sarah-83b pool Sarah-73pool-Sarah-65bpool-Sarah-60b pool Sarah-80 pool Sarah-78palm print off the shoulder swim top c|o Albion Fitpalm print high waisted swim bottoms c|o Albion Fitpink sun hat {similar here & here}round sunglassesCaramello liquid lipstick
