velvet x velvet.
i'm sure you've all noticed by now how huge the velvet trend is this season! it's such a fabulous texture and i've been having so much fun styling it in various ways {see here, here, & here}. pretty sure my dress for our Christmas card this year will be in velvet, but that's a secret that stays between you and me! ;]in today's look, i decided to take things to the extreme and style velvet on velvet. this black mini dress is such a fun little piece and the lace edges are so gorgeous. i found these red velvet over the knee boots and even though i was waitlisted for them, i was able to snag them! i couldn't be more in love with this style and the red velvet was the icing on the cake. you can find almost an identical pair without the wait here. pairing these two items together makes for a chic and edgy look! i even wore this outfit to a store opening event last week here in SF and received so many compliments because these OTK boots look extremely similar to the expensive Stuart Weitzman version. remember when t. swift wore them here!? she was my inspiration for the purchase!lastly, i'm so excited to share with you a local jewelry shop today! my stardust handchain is from Embellish Marin, located just across the Golden Gate Bridge in San Anselmo in Marin County. it's a family owned business and everything is made to order by local artisans. i absolutely love the combination of rose gold {my favorite!} and silver in this druzzy stone piece. not to mention, it's made by California Gem, who sells exclusively at Embellish and is SIXTEEN years old. how talented is she?! she also has ready to wear on sale in the shop and takes custom orders. i love how unique this jewelry piece is! i have nothing like it and later this week i'm showing you another way i styled it. stay tuned for a giveaway to Embellish Marin this evening! xx black velvet mini dressred velvet OTK boots {also here}stardust handchain c|o Embellish Marinleather leggingsvelvet chokerGucci soho discoKaren Walker sunglassesCaramello liquid lipstick
