what to wear to a spring or summer wedding.

in the last few weeks, i've had quite a few people ask me for advice on what to wear as a guest for wedding season this year! we are definitely in the thick of springtime weddings, so i though i'd combine spring & summer and round up my kind of wedding looks. you all know my style tends to lean more feminine, and as weddings usually seem to encompass lovely details, my wedding guest style tends to be feminine, too. i think my number once advice would be to not wear white or cream, even though that's a popular color for spring/summer. save that for the bride!i usually like to wear a soft solid color dress or something with a small print. the bride is the focus of the day, so wearing something loud, colorful, or super bold is probably not the best idea {unless of course, you're asked to wear something along those lines!}. i love feminine details, like ruffles or a bow, for a wedding ensemble! i don't think there's anything wrong with wearing a fancier jumpsuit, either. however, unless it's a black tie wedding, i would probably suggest to leave the plunging necklines at home. once again, you want the bride to be the showcase of the day!of course, adhering to the type of wedding is most important {daytime vs. evening} when deciding your outfit choice, but make sure you feel comfortable {maybe pass on the four inch heels if there's a lot of dancing involved} and confident in whatever you choose. i've heard this time and time again: 'i'm buying a dress in a size smaller to motivate me to lose weight before my sisters/friends/cousins wedding.' it's rare this works out and you don't want to be uncomfortable in a dress all night. find a dress or jumpsuit that fits well to begin with and is flattering! you will feel 100% better that night... and you won't have to skip cake, either.as for a shoe choice, i will always advise on wearing a pair of heels! like this outfit below, block heels are your best friend when you're standing/dancing for hours. some wedding are located in grassier locations too, and stilettos can be hard to walk in {hi, free aeration}. your heels don't have to be high! but something with a little pep in your step will quite literally elevate your look.while you don't have to use a clutch, i think smaller is better when it comes to a bag for a wedding. just a personal preference, but i think something smaller looks cleaner in photos, especially candid photos where you might not have a chance to set your bag aside out of the frame.i'm linking some of my favorite dress + shoe + bag choices for a spring/summer wedding below!dresses under $100:
