creating my first Baby Registry with Walmart!

as a first time mom, i’ll be 100% honest that creating a baby registry is super overwhelming. there’s just so much baby stuff out there… what do i really need?! my first baby shower is next month {!!!!}, so i’ve really had to start thinking about creating a registry. i’ve talked to my mom friends, family, fellow bloggers, and i’ve read several articles/blogs {okay, more than several} to see what i really need. but even that can get overwhelming because everyone has a different opinion!

Walmart just launched their new baby registry experience this spring… and let me tell you, it is incredible! sooo many brands that have been recommended to me are included on their baby registry and it’s really a one-stop-shop for moms, new moms and moms-to-be. when i first started thinking about creating my own registry, i had asked my SIL Shannon {pediatric ER nurse, mom blogger, and my doula} her advice on a few items i need. you guys!!!!! she only gave me a handful of items {we are going to sit down and share a comprehensive list later this summer} and was on {!!!!}.

Walmart’s baby registry is quick and easy to fill out, has a wide assortment of brands {even premium brands!}, and of course has various price points to fit your lifestyle. you even get a welcome box and there’s a ton of “best of” baby item recommendations to get you started if you are feeling totally lost like i was. when you first register, Hoo the Owl asks you questions {about your pregnancy like due date, if you know the sex, any nursery style preferences, etc.} to really help tailor and personalize your registry. basically, Walmart is helping us moms feel less overwhelmed with their seamless experience. if you’re expecting, you can register here!

i’ll be sharing a few baby registry blog posts over the next several months, but today is the first and it’s just a list of items i’ve had my eye on for a bit {and some of Shannon’s recommendations}. if you have any item{s} that are must-haves, please let me know below! so fun and exciting to be at this point in my pregnancy! xx

you can click on each item in the collage below and i’m also chatting about each one individually if you keep scrolling! lastly, my pink dress is also from Walmart and it’s $13! it’s non-maternity, so comfy, and i sized up to the xl for my bump. my sandals are also Walmart!

1. Pampers Swaddlers newborn diapers {up to 10 lbs}: came highly recommended as my sister-in-law’s faves! there’s sooo many diaper brands out there, so i definitely wanted to go with a recommendation from a trusted source {she has four kids!}.

2. Aquaphor Baby: you all know we are huge Aquaphor fans in the Tripp home {been using the brands for years and years!}, so of course Aquaphor baby will be a necessity for Baby Tripp!

3. Owlet monitor: you’ve probably seen this all over Instagram and blogs, and i’ve always heard nothing but good things! in fact, there’s literally over 3K reviews on for this and it has a 4.5 star rating. definitely on my must-have list! this monitor tracks your baby’s heart rate and oxygen levels while they sleep… peace of mind for this first-time mom! another recommendation from Shannon :]

4. white noise machine: we actually already own this exact one, so definitely can recommend this first hand! will be buying a second for Baby Tripp’s nursery. we can’t sleep without white noise as adults {haha}, so it’s a must on my list.

5. Halo Bassinest: i’ve read about a lot of various bassinets and this one comes out on top over and over again. Walmart also has the SNOO, which i’ve also heard is amazing {but pricey!}. love that there’s so many options on their site to fit within your budget!

6. baby monitor: i’ve seen this on multiple friends’ and bloggers’ registries! it has a 4.8 star rating on… good enough for me!

7. Dockatot: every single mom i know has told me this is a must! love that Walmart carries it and in several different colors!

8. Bumbo floor seat: obviously don’t need this with a tiny new baby, but it’s something i know i’ve always wanted for my Baby Tripp when he/she starts sitting up!

9. Playtex Diaper Genie: as someone who is very sensitive to smells, my nursery will definitely need this for dirty diapers!

10. wipe warmer: because who wants cold wipes on their skin?! this is seriously genius to me haha.

11. Philips Avent Ultra Soft Pacifier: honestly, had no idea where to start on brands for a pacifier, but this brand was recommended to me by Shannon and it was already on Walmart’s baby registry list. win-win!

12. Comotomo baby bottle: apparently these are some of the best bottles {according to several sources!}. Shannon recommended getting either silicon {which these are} or glass {here’s a glass option!}, as they don’t keep chemicals like plastic do. i would have had no idea! luckily, both options are on Shannon also suggested that it’s best to start with the slowest flow nipple when choosing bottles {i’m such a newbie!}.

13. NoseFrida the Snotsucker: for when baby gets sick! i have a feeling robbie will definitely not be doing this job, haha!

thanks to Walmart for sponsoring this post!

Boudreaux Butt paste for diaper rash is a must. Any irritation clears up almost immediately.

I definitely recommend the Hatch Baby Rest for your sound machine instead! Take it from me and lesson learned with my first one… I had a regular sound machine and then found out about this one! It is basically the same price as other sound machines and it does SO MUCH! You connect it to your phone to control it from there!! There are lots of sound options and it has different colored light options! So many fun settings to customize to the room, but the major plus it that you set it as an “ok to wake” light when your baby is older. Then your toddler/child can learn when it’s time for sleep and wake up based on the light/sound settings. So great for keeping my toddler in bed until 7 AM daily!!! I bought this sound machine for my second child I just had. It has a nice dim light setting for changing diapers overnight, and he’ll be all set for the light when he’s a toddler too! (And no I’m not paid to promote them haha! But seriously, check it out online and instagram!)

PS my husband and I sleep with a sound machine too lol!

The diaper genie, the Nose Frida, and the Bumbo floor sit are must-haves! The Nose Frida saved my sleep a lot of times when my three years old now, was sick. Still, use it.

I would skip the wipe warmer, when you go out you wouldn’t have way to keep them warm and by baby enjoys the cold refreshing wipes anyway. Have a look at white noise machines from SKIP HOP they are cute and multifunctional, they reflect stars on the ceiling of the bedroom and have adjustable light as lamp as well.
Do not forget desiring, I would recommend the purple one.
The aquaphor, nose frida and super genie saved my life literally as well as the ergobaby to carry de baby while I am using my hands on something else… finally I would recommend to check pacifiers that are entirely of silicone and does not have hard parts.
I am so excited for you!! We will be here to cheer you up and share our journey as moms with you!! Go Sarah!!

It’s a good idea is have several styles of pacifiers on hand until you know what kind your kid likes (although they may hate them all….). I got the “gumball” style pacifiers because they were SO highly rated, but my kid ended up only liking the MAM ones (I think Tomee Tipee ones are the same shape too, but Nuk is slightly different). Stuffed pacifier holders are awesome too–I went with Paci Plushies because you could switch out the pacifier attached to them (I think Dr Brown’s Lovies are pretty “universal” too). Wubbanubs are the best known and have tons of animal options, but if your kid doesn’t like the pacifier style they come with then you’re out of luck.

Advice I didn’t follow (and regretted) for highchairs: get one that just wipes down vs a cover that needs to go in the wash. A smoother shape (ie no nooks and crannies) will seriously save your sanity once baby is eating on their own.

We also LOVED our Como Tomo bottles. They’re super easier to clean because of the wide opening and if you use formula you can just add powder and milk and give it a good shake (bottles with other pieces inside don’t mix as well). Because they’re a wider shape though, not all bottle warmers will work with them (we didn’t bother with a bottle warmer–just used our electric kettle and 2c measuring cup to make a water bath).

My personal advice for babies is that there’s very little you NEED, but there is a lot that will make your life easier and that’s definitely worth something! Kids are picky little buggers though, so what works amazing for one person may be a total fail for another.

IMO, you dont need a wipe warmer. I was given one and as soon as the wipe is taken out of the warmer it is not warm anymore. When on the go, you won’t have a warmer with you. Besides, in the Florida summer no need for a warm wipe.

The best pacifiers are the ones from the hospital….you can clean them?. Don’t get the ones with the animal attached, there is not a way for you to remove it and clean it. Definitely get a pacifier clip.

    Bumbo seat is awesome!

Halo Bassinet, Yes…Inhad that and just passed it on after my son turned 8 months. I love how it moves and the cover on the pad is washable.

A white nouse machine….definitely! After my son came home, I put it on the heartbeat to mimic what he heard while in my belly to sleep. Now I usually have the waves of the oxean noise on when he goes to sleep. Love it!

Nosefrida…cant leave home without it. This is such an amazing product because its washable. The bulb things the hospital has, I think are so hard to use and technically they are a one time use. With the Nosefrida you can tell you are getting something and can wash it immediately. Keep one in your diaper bag as well.

Its not on your list, however I would like to share the book Happy Sleeper with you.

    Teething necklace is a must.

One other thing I loved is The First Years sure comfort deluxe bathtub with a sling like a hammock for your infant to lay in and give a bath. Infant to toddler, so you can use it a while.

You can also create a baby registry on Amazon. They will send you a little care package as well.
    Hope this helps

    Hi Sarah,
Trying to help a friend with their baby registry and wanted to show them your registry. Unfortunately, it does not come up on the Walmart website. Is it possible to view your baby registry on Walmart?
