i spy...
i spy with my little eye the beautiful mountains that surround my current home of Salt Lake City, Utah! i've teamed up with Willow & Clay today to show you around Salt Lake & my favorite things about the city. i was born & raised in Las Vegas, but moved out to Utah to attend college. i lived an hour south of SLC in a town called Provo for four years while i went to Brigham Young University. after getting married, my hubs (who is from SLC) & i moved to the city and have been here for almost a year!we both love Salt Lake for many reasons, especially the area of Sugarhouse where we live. {it is one of the more trendy & diverse parts of the city, which means we are surrounded by a lot of cool people our age and our style!} most of all, i just love being back in a big city. i'm a city girl at heart! i admire the surrounding snow-capped mountains for their beauty, but there's nothing better than the hustle & bustle of downtown. Utah is known for it's pristine ski resorts & mountain ranges but there's nothing quite like going out to dinner in the heart of the city & then doing a little shopping at the gorgeous City Creek Center.i'm not so much of a snow person, but there really is a beauty to it {and i'm getting quite used to it after almost five years of living in Utah}. the summers here are the perfect mix of warm & breezy, without being too hot. however, it's the fall season that i love the most. the colors of the changing leaves here, complimented by such a beautiful mountain backdrop, is really quite the phenomenon.so, here's a list of my favorite things to do & see here in Salt Lake City, Utah:~shop at City Creek Center~visit Temple Square~view the latest indie movies at The Broadway Centre Theatre {this really is such a gem}~grab a slice at the legendary underground Pie Pizzeria up by the University of Utah~see live performances at Capitol Theatre, Kingsbury Hall, & Abravanel Hall~iceskate at The Gallivan Center {where these pictures were taken}~eat gelato at Capo Gelateria {after dining at Settebello of course}~attend the Sundance Film Festival {and see which celebrities you can spot!}~tour the Ice Castles in Midway {the cold never bothered me anyway}~for a more formal night out, The Five Alls restaurant has been a Tripp family favorite since my husband's parents were newlyweds. after he took me there for the first time when we started dating, it became mine too. the Five Alls delivers an amazing 5-course meal for a very reasonable price. it will forever be "our place" :)Salt Lake City has so much beauty & so much to offer! it's home {for now}, and even if i don't absolutely love the cold {hi, i'm from Vegas}, i absolutely love SLC. xoxxps: you know how much i love Willow & Clay's motto leggings, which i've blogged about several times. the leggings i'm wearing in today's post are the "WC Classic Legging" & i love them just as much! i'm not kidding when i tell you they are the perfect legging: not see-through, stretchy but doesn't lose its shape, & hugs all the right places w/ its thicker fabric. see for yourself, i promise you won't be disappointed! overcoat c/o: Willow & Clayleggings c/o: Willow & Claysweater: LOFT {similar}open-heeled booties: Steven by Steve Maddenhandbag: Louis Vuitton Speedy 30necklace: J.
