as i've shared openly and frequently here on the blog and social media, i wear a size 10 or 12, depending on the brand and clothing item. i've worn up to a size 14 and even the 'small' side of a 16. when shopping in that size range, it's easy to dread swimwear shopping, but i can honestly say that formalwear shopping probably takes the cake as the most uncomfortable experience. prom dress shopping was miserable in high school, and i remember being so nervous to find the perfect wedding dress for the sole reason that most formal dresses run small. in fact, i'm pretty sure my wedding dress was a size 16, even though i was just a tad smaller then i am now. add into the mix that i need dresses with sleeves, ones that aren't low-cut, and for cocktail dresses i need them to come to just above my knee, you could say that i've never had an easy time finding formalwear dresses.when i first came across the brand Teri Jon, i was so excited to try on the dresses and see how they fit. most of the Teri Jon dresses are cut from a size 2 to a size 20, and the brand prides itself on formal dresses that actually fit correctly for any body type! on top of that, the dresses are so classy and luxurious. so many of them are on-trend and completely in line with what i would wear. i definitely have a more feminine style, and i just couldn't get over all of the lace, sequins, ruffles, and bow details that so many of the dresses feature.today i'm sharing three dresses from the current Teri Jon collection that would be perfect for three different types of summer weddings. the champagne lace dress is the perfect outfit for a day wedding. the bell sleeves are so sweet and feminine. i paired this dress with a pearl clutch and pink slingback heels to really play into my feminine style.the scuba cobalt blue ruffle dress is a fun pop of color, and one i would feel totally comfortable wearing to a cocktail hour wedding. i paired an ornate clutch with it for a playful look. i love the exaggerated ruffles and bright color!lastly, the long formal navy dress is my favorite for a black tie wedding. i love the bow detail on the shoulder and the taffeta bell sleeves. a pair of crystal earrings and swipe of lipstick are the perfect accents to allow the dress to really stand out. i seriously feel so amazing in each of these dresses and they run true to size! they each fit like a glove!below i'm sharing a video from Teri Jon's #JustMySize campaign. the video ends with the quote: 'clothing will not change the world, the women who wear them will.' amen, amen, amen!it's been so amazing to work with a brand that truly cares about a correct fit for any body type. thank you Teri Jon for making formalwear shopping such an amazing experience for me.
