Laguna Beach photo diary

every summer, my entire dad's side of the family heads down to Laguna Beach for our annual family vacation at the beautiful Surf and Sand Resort! my family has been going since my dad was little, so i've been going my entire life. the family has really expanded over the years {about 55 people go now!}, and it's truly one of my very favorite places on earth. it's fun, relaxing, and my happy place! growing up, it was the last hurrah before school started, and even now it's kind of like a summer send off. the best kind, in my opinion!i thought i'd share a photo diary of our trip earlier this month and a few of our favorites to-dos in Orange County! keep scrolling for my recommendations and to shop my looks. i do have a full Newport Beach specific travel guide, as well! xx

what to do:-beach it! Surf and Sand has a private beach for those staying at the resort, but others in Laguna are Thalia Beach and Thousand Steps Beach. in Newport, head to the The Wedge to watch surfers!-rent a bike in Newport and go to Balboa Island! there you can ride the ferris wheel and get a famous Balboa Bar from Dad's-there are a ton of art galleries in Orange County, and every year we walk around Laguna during their Art Walk {first Thursday of every month} to look at them all with my parents! my mom has bought quite a few pieces from one gallery in particular. always fun to window shop, too!-i personally loveeee the shopping in Orange County {see above for the best of the best!}-we've never hiked here, but there's actually quite a few trails!-if you're comfortable, rent a paddle board and explore the open water {my cousin's husband does this every year! this year he got to swim with dolphins and he wasn't far out at all!}-ride the trolley! Laguna has a free trolley during the summer and we usually take it a few times to get to a restaurant or shop or art gallery!
