neon & polka dots: NYFW day 4 with ASOS.
i saved this outfit for my last full day of NYFW because it was a little outside of my box. now don't get me wrong, the form fitting maxi dress is right up my alley! but i don't often wear polka dots, nor pair them with neon colors. when this outfit arrived from ASOS however, i absolutely loved it and ran with it! polka dots are having a moment right now, and i've loved watching so many of my blogger friends style them. i did want my curves to do the talking for this outfit, but i added some fun elements, like the neon pink cardi and tassel statement earrings. now that i'm back to every day life, i can't wait to pair the polka dot dress with a blazer & heels for meetings and the pink cardigan with jeans for a casual day look.i've talked about wearing SPANX before under more form-fitting clothing, but i didn't quite want to wear them for a 12 hour day. SPANX are incredible and as a curvy girl, they are definitely a standard part of my wardrobe. but i needed something a little more... flexible for such a long day. instead, i opted for this shapewear underneath my polka dot dress that smoothed everything out while still being forgiving. i'd say they did a pretty good job!now, just for a brief recap of our last day! we started the day at the Dan Lui show and then headed to brunch at Jane's. after that, we attended the Vogue Retreat event, which was basically a way for bloggers to relax, eat something yummy, and take a break from the hectic schedule of NYFW. i was also invited to privately screen 'Dior and I,' which was an amazing opportunity {my very first time working with Vogue!}. the room was so chic and had the most plush and beautiful red seats. i easily could have fallen asleep, haha! after the Vogue event, we were off to our last show, Leanne Marshall. this is always my favorite show because her designs are so whimsical, feminine, and dreamy. this year did not disappoint! not only were her colorful designs so on point, but she also used a few curvy models. i was over the moon when i saw them walk! in fact, this NYFW was the most diverse yet when it comes to size and even race. there's still a long road ahead, but couldn't be more happy with the direction of where the fashion industry is going in the US.after the Leanne Marshall show, we decided to play hooky and be tourists for our last night. we headed to the Top of the Rock, Levain's Bakery, and ended the evening eating amazing pasta at the Italian restaurant The Sosta in SoHo. we spent the last night laughing in our hotel room and trying on each other's handbags. i had so much fun traveling with the bloggers i went with and will be sharing more about that in tomorrow's blog post! i loved sharing my affordable and on-trend New York Fashion Week looks by ASOS with you! hope you enjoyed following along. xx polka dot maxi dress {petite version here} c|o ASOSneon pink cardigan (yes, it's a men's!} c|o ASOSneon green kitten heels c|o ASOStassel statement earrings c|o ASOSrose gold cat eyes c|o ASOSCeline box bag {bought here}Candy Yum Yum lipstick
