Casual Friday: Happy Six Years, SRL!

first things first: today is the six year anniversary of my blog, Sassy Red Lipstick! the years have flown by, yet i still remember our very first photoshoot in downtown Provo, Utah like it was yesterday. i was 21, about to start my senior year of college and loved all things fashion. i wore a cheetah dress and a pair of red Valentino heels i snagged at Nordstrom Rack for an incredible deal. at the time, i knew nothing about the business of blogging, only that i loved reading other fashion blogs and wanted to share my own curvy style with the world. Robbie built my first site, took all my photos {we've come a long way with those, haha!}, and consistently supported me when i felt silly blogging. fast forward six years and we've created a business and community together that we feel so blessed to have and are incredibly proud of! thanks to all of you for your love and support over the years. means the world to us! last year we wrote a post about five things we've learned over the years. check it out here!

here's a few of my favorite blog posts over the years:

2013, 2014, 2015 {my first body positive post here}, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019

i wanted to get back to my normal "casual friday" series where i share links i've loved throughout the week, what i've purchased, interesting articles, life updates, etc. let's get started!my favorite maternity sweater dress worn above is here! the pink is the prettiest color and it also comes in black and gray. i'm wearing the medium/large.with the 18th anniversary of 9/11 this week, i've thought a lot about that day and its impact on American history. thinking about those who lost loved ones and still grieve over such a tragic event. this is a beautiful tribute.i'm approaching 36 weeks pregnant, which means we are just about a month out from meeting Baby Tripp! seems so surreal! at my doctor's appointment early next week i'll find out if i'm dilated at all. we are working on finishing the nursery and getting our hospital bags packed this next week!i wore these Louboutins to my baby shower, but these are a great dupe!i didn't attend NYFW this season due to being so pregnant, but i couldn't be more proud of my girl Hunter McGrady for taking a stand and not attending shows or events that weren't inclusive. she's a beautiful curve model, but also an influencer, and she turned down over 30 events/shows she was invited to because they didn't include any diversity, whether it be size, ethnicity, or gender. there have been some incredible diverse show this season {Chromat, Siriano, Savage x Fenty, etc.}, but there's still a long ways to go in the fashion industry for inclusivity.this week, i purchased these embellished hoop earrings, this layered star necklace, and this cream sweater dress! i plan to wear the dress with these cream booties i was sent last week and shared on a PR unboxing.i really like Gary Vee's opinion on likes being removed from Instagram! at first i didn't like the idea, but i'm SO ready for a change now and think it'll be really healthy for creators. what do you think!?Robbie's curvy girl anthem 'Chubby Sexy' has over 80,000 streams on Spotify and nearly half a million views on the music video on YouTube! it's such an empowering song and it's so fun for us to see all the curvy gals around the world tagging us on Instagram and posting the song every day. love this article about Robbie empowering women this article talking about the body positivity movement.this week, Kim Kardashian launched her shapewear brand SKIMS! i wasn't able to snag any {they sold out in my cart before i fully checked out!}, but i can't wait to hear reviews about them. did any of you purchase a pair?we are taking our official maternity photos this evening and i'm wearing this dress!this weekend, we have Jenni from Wisdom of Birth coming to our home to do a little private education class on all things birthing and newborn! super excited for it!
