Top 10 Memories of 2019!
2019 was one for the books! We experienced a lot of NEW: new state, new house, and of course our sweet new baby. It was a year of change and learning! While there were many personal and business trials, there were also ten times more sweet and happy moments. As per usual, I'm recapping the year below with my top 10 memories of 2019! Enjoy! 1.Family cruise to Florida Keys and Cuba
This was our big trip of the year with my family! We went on a Caribbean Cruise for a week and it was seriously exactly what we needed to truly unplug and unwind after such a crazy 2018. It was shortly after this trip we got pregnant, and I truly believe spending quality time together stress-free helped so much. Plus, this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit Cuba! 2. Body positive shoot with Dani
My girl Dani and I wrote posts all about why body shaming, no matter the size, is not okay {originally shared here} and it quickly spread throughout the internet. More importantly, the message behind our posts is something we both deal with a lot and wanted to share the important reminder that all bodies are beautiful and worthy and should never be critiqued. It was a powerful post {IG post here and one of my most liked of the year} and Glamour UK, Cosmopolitan, Yahoo, MSN, and Upworthy all covered it.
3. Finding out we were pregnant
I found out I was pregnant the first week of February this year! I told Robbie three days later {read about it in this post here}, we told our family and close friends later in February and all throughout March {YouTube video here}, and then we shared our happy announcement with all of you on Easter in April! By far one of the most incredible times of our entire lives. We then did a gender reveal in June and shared that Baby Tripp was a boy!
4. Dream trip to Charleston with the Gal Meets Glam team
In April, we were invited to attend the first anniversary celebration of the launch of Julia Engel's collection Gal Meets Glam! Julia is someone I've looked up to for years {and have read her blog since the beginning!}, so it was definitely a pinch me moment! We traveled to Charleston {our first time!} and it was such a memorable trip with incredible people.
5. Being interviewed for the LIKEtoKNOW.it Influencer Radio podcast
In April, we attended rStheCon in Dallas, which is rewardStyle's annual invite-only blogger conference! Last year I spoke at the conference, and this year I was interviewed for the launch season of LTK's podcast! I was so honored to be a part of the first season's episodes. You can tune into my episode here!
6. Moving into our new home
In June, we moved into our new home and have been settling in the past six months! *Most* rooms are completed and we can't wait to share them all {guest room here, kitchen dining & living room here, and my office reveal is coming very soon!}. We are loving having so much space to call our own, and we love living in Arizona!
7. Baby showers in Salt Lake and Las Vegas
I was so blessed to be thrown two baby showers for Taz-- the first one in July by my Tripp family {here} and the second one in August in my hometown of Las Vegas by my mom, aunt, and best friend {here}. Both events were so special, and Baby Tripp and I felt so much love from our family & friends!
8. Babymoon in Hawaii
This was such a special trip in July! Robbie and I went to Maui for a week and added on a few days to hop over to Oahu to see his brother's family who had recently moved there and to shop {haha! push present video here}. It was the best time to unwind, relax, shoot some fun photos, and enjoy being together before our lives changed forever! This was our last big trip of the year. 9. The day Robert Taz Tripp was born
October 12th, 2019 at 8:55am was the best day of our entire lives! Our sweet Taz entered the world at 8 pounds, 15 ounces, 21 inches long and forever changed our family. I labored for 18 hours unmedicated {which was the hardest thing I've ever done!}, and I couldn't have done it without Robbie and my sister-in-law Shannon {who was my doula}. 10. Spent the Holidays with our family in our new home and with our new sweet baby
We hosted Thanksgiving for my family this year, and it was such a special time with Taz around to celebrate! We decided to stay home for Christmas and not travel with such a new baby, and we enjoyed time together. Taz was blessed a few days after Christmas and both sides of the family came down for that.
